LTC Preston Jackson graduated from Bowie State University in 2001 and commissioned as an Infantry officer in 2002. He holds a Masters Degree in Management.

Following IBOLC and Ranger School, LTC Jackson’s first duty station was Fort Bragg, NC where he was assigned as a Platoon Leader in B Co., 2-504th PIR. While serving as a Platoon Leader he deployed twice in support of a contingency operations during OEF III and OIF II. Following the second deployment, he was assigned as the HHC XO. Upon graduation from ICCC, LTC Jackson was assigned to the 4th Ranger Training Battalion where he served as a Ranger Instructor and the BN S4. In 2007, he was assigned to Fort Hood, TX within 3 BCT, 1st ID as the Dismount Reconnaissance Troop Commander (DRT). He deployed his DRT to Afghanistan in support of OEF 08-09. Upon redeployment, LTC Jackson was assigned back to Fort Benning, GA where he took command of Attack Company, 2-11th IN BN (IBOLC). Following CGSC/ILE, LTC Jackson served in the famed 2-506th, 4 BCT, 101st Airborne Division (AA) as the BDE Plans Chief, BN S3 and BN XO. During this time he served as the BN S3 in support of OEF 12-13 and OEF 13-14. Upon redeployment, LTC Jackson was took over duties as the BN XO. From 2015 to 2017, he was assigned to the 6th Ranger Training Battalion at Camp Rudder, FL where he was the BN S3/Ranger Instructor and the BN XO. Following his time at 6th RTB, LTC Jackson assessed and selected to serve in the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) at Fort Meade, MD. There he served as a Troop Commander and Senior Advisor from 2017-2019. LTC Jackson served on the Army Staff at the Pentagon and then was selected to serve in the United States Military Observers Group, assigned as a US Peacekeeper & Advisor, deployed to Mali, Africa for 12 months.

He is a recipient of the Order of Saint Maurice for his contributions to the US Infantry and the Order of Saint Barbara for contributions to Field Artillery during contingency operations in Afghanistan.
